The Philip Harris M-100FLED Monocular LED microscope is a good, economically priced educational microscope suitable for all manners of microscope work from basic use at Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. The microscope has a WF10X/18mm eyepiece, which can be removed to allow the insertion of an eyepiece camera or eyepiece micrometer when necessary, and is capable of magnification of up to 400x. It also has a built-in adjustable intensity 3-LED, which is controlled by way of a dial, and an iris diaphragm condenser. The M-100FLED microscope has the same technical specifications as the now discontinued M-100FL model, with the addition of a built-in 3-LED illuminator with 3 rechargeable batteries. The illuminator can be used for 24 hours continuously without recharging (or for 12 hours with LED at maximum power). Battery charging can be enabled whilst the microscope is in use.
