A popular general purpose power supply where a continuously variable supply is required. The output voltage is selected by a rotary switch on the front of the unit, output is up to a maximum of 15V. It provides 0 - 15V ac or unsmoothed dc adjusted by the rotary control at a maximum current of 8.5A. The maximum voltage can be locked to a chosen setting using the key provided. The ac and dc outputs may be used simultaneously, provided the combined output does not exceed 8.5A. Internal heavy duty relays allow the voltage to be switched without switch contact problem, ensuring long switch lifetime. The internal, quiet-running fan will hardly be noticed but it reduces the already low thermal stress in the unit still further, ensuring long life of the instrument. Triple protection is provided by a resettable electronic overload trip, thermal transformer trip and slow-blow fuse on the primary. Overloads are indicated by the LED changing from green to red. The mains cord is kept tidy, by means of the cable retainer on the back of the unit which allows the cable to be stowed away neatly with the use of winding hooks and a clip to secure the cable. A continuously variable power supply that many teachers choose in preference to a stepped unit. The Ranger is the preferred option for general-purpose student use, where a continuously variable supply is required and where the ability to lock the maximum voltage is desirable. Output voltage variable by rotary control knob up to 15V. Continuously rated output of 8.5A, a.c.or d.c. Adjustable, maximum voltage lock. Sockets accept standard 4mm plugs and shrouded plugs. Snap up handle - safe to carry with one hand. Internal fan for cool-running. Fully protected secondary by high speed, resettable electronic trip. Slow-blow fuse protection for primary. Additional thermal trip protection for transformer. This device is compliant to EN61010-2010 with certificates available on request. Dimensions:. Width: 175mm. Depth: 190mm (including cable clips 206mm). Height: 341mm. Mass: 5.4kg.
